Step-by-step instructions for drawing a cheerleader.
Step 1
Begin by drawing the head of the cheerleader. Draw an irregular round shape to form the peak of the hat. Use a long, curved line to enclose the brim of the hat. Section the hat using several curved lines and draw a small circle at the top of the hat to make the button. Beneath the hat, she draws pairs of curved lines that meet at irregular points. This indicates the cheerleader’s hair. Connect the strands of hair using a curved line, enclosing the shape of the face.
Step 2
Extend two sharp, curved lines to form the channel. Enclose the round neck of the shirt with a curved line, and enclose the curved triangular lobes of the shirt collar. Use curved lines to draw the shirt’s rough “T” shape and decorate it with a heart in the middle.
Step 3
Extend a couple of lines from each sleeve, forming the arms. Instead of hands, draw the cheerleader’s pom, using short lines to outline each rectangular section. Texture the inside of the pom poms with additional short lines.
Step 4
Extend long, curved stripes from the base of the shirt. They surround the figure with a couple of lines just below the shirt, forming the top of the skirt. Close the bottom of the skirt using a series of horizontal lines in an inverted “V” shape. Draw a line around the bottom of the apiece “V.”
step 5
Extend a couple of curved lines from under the skirt, forming the leg.
Step 6
Enclose a rounded figure at the base of the leg using a long, curved stripe. This is the cheerleader shoe. Make a band with curved lines near the top and bottom, forming the sock and sole. Draw narrow ovals in the middle of the shoe, indicating the laces.
Step 7
Extend another couple of lines from the skirt, forming the remaining leg. The lines should be bent at right angles, indicating the knee. Use curved tubes to enclose and detail the tights and shoes as in the previous step.
step 8
For each eye, draw three successively smaller circles—a shadow between the two smaller ones, forming the large pupil. Draw two curved tubes at the top of the apiece eye to indicate the eyelid and another to create the eyebrow.
step 9
Use curved lines to draw the smiling nose and lips.
