Step 1
Our skier will be in a very special position – he is skiing downwards. Head slightly down, back and knees slightly bent. First, outline the head in an oval shape. Next, use a slightly curved line to draw the spinal marker (the neck is not visible from the back of the head). Pull the chest and back. At the end of the step, outline the bent arms and legs.
Step 2
Draw the symmetrical lines of the face that meet at the bridge of the nose. Since our skewer is looking downwards, the lines will cut slightly below it if the skewer is looking straight ahead. Next, sketch the slightly curved torso and triangular pelvis. Add volume to arms and legs with simple geometric shapes. We are making ski poles with our hands, pulling skis on our feet.
Step 3
Now let’s start with the details. First, outline the hat, glasses, nose, and mouth using light lines. Join the geometric shapes from the previous step with the help of smooth lines to make the shape of the skewer’s body more realistic.
Step 4
Let’s start working on the final details. Pull a hat and goggles over the top of the head. Pull the nose and mouth slightly down. Carefully draw the shape of the face, jawline, and cheekbones.
Step 5
Continue the tutorial on how to draw a skier. Here we will stretch the upper body. Remove all guides and draw the correct shape of the torso and arms. Add some layers to the bent areas. Don’t forget to sketch the skier’s uniform.Draw the symmetrical lines of the face that meet at the bridge of the nose. Since our skewer is looking downwards, the lines will cut slightly below it if the skewer is looking straight ahead. Next, sketch the slightly curved torso and triangular pelvis. Add volume to arms and legs with simple geometric shapes.
Step 6
Let’s go down a little and work on the lower body of your scarecrow. Outline the square leg with smooth and slightly curved lines. The legs are quite large and muscular, so don’t forget to stretch the visible muscle lines under the clothes. Pull out the skateboard (which seems too small from this point of view) and erase all other rules.
Step 7
Square drawing ready. Now we need to make it more comprehensive and realistic. For this, we will draw shadows using a hatch. First, imagine that light is falling from the upper right corner of the paper, which means we draw the bloom line in areas where there is no light.
We hope you enjoy the extension. If you do not like the result of your work, repeat the step where you made a mistake because the only practice can make you a great artist.
