Surrounding it are two titanium indicator discs displaying the days and months, plus precise time settings with a hand running over a custom graduation with a 5-minute timer and retrograde hours displaying the fluidic system.
The HYT Moon Runner perfectly assumes its dual nature, as a fine watchmaking timepiece with clearly legible precision functions; it is also designed as a celestial vehicle capable of taking its wearer on an emotional journey to the moon.
Designed and produced by Swiss master watchmakers, this new iconic spaceship in the HYT fleet joins the Hastroid. With its manually wound mechanical movement and state-of-the-art equipment, it combines the classic sophistication of watchmaking know-how and the advances of science with its mechafluidic technique.
Sometimes described as the UFO watchmaker, HYT watches, with their style and enhancements, have brought a breath of fresh air to luxury watchmaking. The key component is the thermal compensator inside one of the two bellows.
The ability to provide constant displacement and distribute enough energy for liquids to flow at the desired velocity within the glass
capillary is one of the most outstanding features of the exceptional watchmaking calibres developed by HYT. A one minute increase of the liquid inside the glass tube is equivalent to a movement of 1.5 microns of the bellows. The choice of a hand-wound movement is not insignificant: it guarantees smooth and smooth operation.
To allow a link between the fluidic system and the caliber of the watch, the movement has an oversized lever,
called a “sensor”, which serves as a bridge as it allows establishing a link between the operation of the cam,
which transforms a movement circle into a rectilinear movement, and that of the bellows,
whose function is to regulate the movement of the two liquids. This cam, an innovation introduced by Eric Couderay, allows perfect synchronization between fluid time and mechanical time.
In practice, once the lever is actuated, the movement is driven against a bellows allowing uninterrupted flow of fluids for twelve hours. When it reaches 6 o’clock, the two liquids return to their starting position,
giving a retrograde reading for the next six hours.
It should also be noted that during retrograde reflux, fluids are completely disconnected from the mechanism.
The fluidic system itself regulates the return to the starting position in a fascinating way. These technical features, complex at first, are really striking, since the watch face is constantly in action.
