Introduction
Jhalana Leopard Safari Park is home to 30-35 leopards spread across a 23-square-kilometer region, with 6-7 leopards having territories in the park’s tourism sector. It Is located in the heart of Jaipur city and close to the airport, is quickly becoming a popular site for spotting leopards in the wild.
Jhalana, which used to be a reserve forest near Jaipur, has traditionally been home to leopards and other smaller wildlife such as spotted deer, blue bulls, wild boars, and a plethora of resident and migratory birds.

Jhalana Panther safari is a one-of-a-kind wildlife adventure dedicated to seeing and photographing one of the world’s most secretive cats in the heart of Jaipur. One of the first Project Leopard sites, the 23-square-kilometer dry and deciduous forest opened to tourists in 2017 and has become India’s premier destination for observing and shooting these gorgeous felines in the wild. The one constant in the reserve, which is open all year, is the frequency with which leopards are spotted. The leopard population has thrived in an urban jungle that surrounds the old city of Jaipur on all sides. Because the leopards in this area have adapted successfully to avoid combat with their own type while still maintaining a safe distance from humans, they are now known as Urban Leopards, who are more intelligent and sophisticated.
Flora in Jhalana Leopard Reserve —
The scenery of Jhalana Leopard Reserve is dominated by narrow Aravallis valleys and sheer cliffs of hills. The peacefulness and intriguing natural surroundings of the Jhalana forest are incredibly relaxing and a delight for the mind. This terrain is different and unique for nature enthusiasts because of the abundance of wildlife in the metropolitan area.
It is a dry deciduous woodland in Jhalana. Plants like juliflora (Prosopis juliflora) and khejri dominate the Jhalana forest (Prosopis cineraria). The fast-growing juliflora was originally planted to assist local residents with fuel. Other grasslands and trees, on the other hand, are not supported by trees. Local flora such as dhak (Butea monosperma), salar (Boswellia serrata), dhonk (Anogeissus pendula), and kumta can be found in the slanting valleys (Acacia senegal).
